How much did you lift while pregnant?

I was told nothing over 20 pounds for first two trimesters, then nothing over 10 pounds for the third, so that's what I did! But I'm sure that's excessive. Good excuse to make hubby do the hard chores, though!

I work in an assisted living facility. I assist with lifting and transferring people over 200lbs.

From prior to starting ivf,I was told no more than 10lbs...although I occasionally get stuck lifting my 13lb dog from situations.

I worked at a gym during my first pregnancy and I opened the place in the mornings so I would walk around putting weights back for about half an hour. They weighed anywhere from 5lbs to 100lbs .

I'm still doing squats with 7.5-10 kilos on each side of the bar, rows and deadlifts with 7.5 kilos, bicep curls with 4 kilos, chest presses (on an incline bench) with 5-6 kilos on each side. I also just spent the weekend at almost 16 weeks splitting wood which involved moving trees and stumps around, and throwing a lot of split wood around.

I took a transatlantic trip at 8w and lifted my 23 kilo suitcase myself a few times. My doctor said I could continue my fitness routine but listen to my body. Since the weight lifting hasn't bothered me I didn't see why lifting a suitcase would be bad. Babe has been fine at checkups and I've had no cramps or bleeding.

Women didn't have the luxury of stopping their work and lifting centuries ago, and women who already have kids have to keep lifting their other child in many cases. So, I'm just lifting more carefully but have mostly been continuing as before.

For the first couple months I hadn't gone to a doctor and didn't know about the weight limit thing, so working at a car parts shop I didn't think about all the heavy things I was lifting. Once I saw a doc I wound up moving anyway and left that job. I'm now following the 20 lb rule though
