My boyfriend and i were talking about getting married and when and he said that he loves me and wants to marry me as soon as he can because he wants to tell the world that he loves me and i dont know like i want to but idk.... he says he still wants me to go to uni like i want and that he doesnt want me to give anything up for it but im just nervous that he'll ask and i wont know what to say. Thoughts?

I've been engaged for 4 years, with no wedding plans quite yet. Just because you have agreed to get married doesn't mean it has to be next week.

I'm getting married in may and I'm 18 my fiancé is 19. There isn't anything wrong with it, but it is a choice you have to be ready for. Don't rush it. Just let it happen and all will be fine! 😊

I'm 17 and a junior in high school and my boyfriend is 18 and graduated and we always joke about him proposing at my graduation next year and just staying engaged until I'm done with school because that's what I 100% intend to do; get married around 2022 or 2023 because I'll be done with getting my bachelors since I started my classes this year. The main reason I'm okay with that is because we plan to move in together either in my third year of college or 6 months before our wedding. Just because I don't want to marry someone not knowing what they're like behind closed doors. Even though we've been together for three years next weekend and I've obviously seen him behind closed doors at home and I've stayed the night with him and his family and vice versa I feel like he could be different when it's just us. If getting married at 18 worked with my 6 year plan I'd do it. I don't see anything wrong with it if you truly know and love that person.

I got married then pregnant at 18. We've been married 10 years. I don't regret anything but I do wish I experienced life a little more. It was very difficult and I would just give it time. If yall are meant to be then it will happen even if u wait. Travel see the world. I wish u luck

If he proposes that means you are engaged. You two don't have to marry straight away ahah some people are engaged for a few years before their big day :)

My advice would be if you're hesitant, don't do it. You can get married later on when you feel more sure. There's no need to feel rushed into it! If you want to go to university first and get a feel for your life as an adult, that's totally fine! I actually did get married at 18, but if any part of me had hesitated, I would have waited a few years for sure. It's a big deal, so wait until you're sure and ready

I got married at 18 but my husband was 23. We have been together for 13 years married for almost 9. Best decision of my life but I was wholeheartedly invested in the idea and wanted nothing more.  He was deploying to Iraq a month later. (I also found out a month after the wedding I was pregnant.) It changed all my plans. I was planning on becoming a marine but life happened instead.

Please don't. Please wait. I know everyone is different and all that, but what's the rush? If you plan on being together forever, a ring and a piece of paper aren't going to change that. Wait until you're done with school and start your career. You are in a time where you should be focusing on YOU. You'll never be this young again and believe me, time flies. The older you get the faster it goes by. Take your time.
