Period after Mirena
I had a mirena IUD for 4 years, and stopped having a period almost right away after I got it. Prior to that I had the paragard IUD for 9 years and decided not to get it again because while I liked not having hormones, I had frequent heavy periods, terrible cramps, and spotting almost always between periods. So since I had my son 14 years ago I have not had "normal" periods. I'm pretty sensitive to hormones (bled for 6-9 months on the depo shot, low dose bc pills made my crazy, first trimester of pregnancy I was crazy jealous even before I knew I was pregnant). I don't remember having a very predictable cycle when I was a teenager before I had my son.
I know it can take a while for my cycle to regulate. I only spotted a handful of times on mirena, more so near the end, I figured those were "my version" of a period. Last spotting occurred Sept 29-Oct 1. Got IUD out Oct 6. Started spotting again Oct 11. BD on Oct 7&8.
I'm 34 and ttc #2 after having my first at 20. Had unprotected sex with my son's father for over a year before getting pregnant, wasn't trying to, just wasn't trying not to either.
Interested to hear of other people's experience with post Mirena cycles and ttc.
