Is it weird that I won't get my first ultrasound til I'm 12w4d? I'm currently 9w6d and had my first appointment a couple of days ago,but we got to hear a heart beat.

Completely normal! I have my first scan booked in for 12w 3d. I would love to have an earlier scan or to even hear the heartbeat but don't get a choice here x

No the baby is too small to see that is why they want to give u the ultrasound at 12 weeks. My first appointment was scheduled to be at 12 weeks on Oct 19. But they called me two weeks early and asked if I can come in since their was a cancellation. I was 10w4d and saw my little one dancing around. Good luck!

Wonder why the doctors are making you wait so long. That isn't normal. Hubby and I saw our baby at 7 weeks.

Completely normal they only do a early ultrasound if some think wrong like worried with spotting. This happened to me I had early scan because I was worried with spotting. First ultrasound should be 12 weeks . Xx

Unless there is a reason (irregular periods throwing off the due date, spotting, high risk, etc), my doctor only does one ultrasound at 20 weeks. I only had an early ultrasound because I couldn't remember the exact first day of my last period, and my cycles were running longer.
