Is it me or my IUD?

So I just got my Mirena IUD put in on Wednesday. I know the cramps were gonna happen but my doctor said they should be gone within 15 mins after the procedure. I've been have sporadic cramps. The pain isn't as severe as my normal period cramps are...they're actually low on the pain scale but it's really uncomfortable and so random that they feel more painful then they probably are. I also have this metallic smell. I had it after the procedure too but I was also bleeding heavy from the procedure. I'm back to my normal clear discharge but it's a metallic smell and I find that really weird. Has anyone else been through this and if so how long does it last?
