Could I ask for a scheduled induction to be on my due date ? Or they don't do that ? I don't know I'm a first time mom . That's why I'm asking

At my last doctors appointment he asked me if I wanted to be induced and when and I said on my due date and he said ok. Talk to your doctor and ask him!

You have to be dilated a certain amount is my understanding, or it likely won't work.

I was making small talk with a nurse at mine. And I said I'm mentally prepared for over 40 weeks. She said good. You would be surprised how many women try to get induced before their due date. They won't discuss it before 40weeks at my clinic.

Inductions, I believe, are only scheduled if you're like 40-41weeks (or the OB thinks it's a good idea, for whatever reason to induce you earlier or due to medical complications) with no signs of labor or you're in labor and it stalls/stops so they give you pictocin to get the contractions going again to help you give birth and I think if it doesn't work they have to do an emergency c-section.
