Do we need a stroller in December?

Baby is due first week of December, I live in Minnesota, not really thinking I'll be out and about much those first... oh... five months. Should I wait to buy the travel system? We have an infant car seat. I'm just thinking we could wait a while to get the rest. Thoughts?

I live in Chicago and I'm due December 7th, I have a travel system. I'd rather have it and not need it right away rather than need it in the middle of winter and not have it

Baby has a check up a few days after being discharged and it could be to heavy carrying the infant car seat with baby in it after a while. Unless you have someone that would help carrying the infant car seat to these visits, I would recommend a stroller or a baby carrier.

I stil plan on bundling up the baby and going for walks and if it's that cold or snowing I plan on walking around the mall.

You may want to use it if your at the mall or somthing. I'd say get it so you have it. Especially if you have the money for it now. :) I'm due December 4th and we already have one.

Just get a sling, wrap, baby carrier What ever you call them lol I live in canada and dont plan on buying a stroller cause it'll be damn snowy and like hell I'm gonna take my baby out there lol.. But everyone has different preferences.

I bought a Chicco Key Fit caddy at a baby consignment sale for $25 and plan to use that as my main stroller for a few months (and I live in southern CA so weather didn't even factor in 😂). I was overwhelmed with all the stroller/travel system options and decided that the Caddy would fit my needs for the first few months and give me time to research and save up (they aren't cheap!)

I used to live in Minnesota.  And I know how cold it gets there!  Lived in it for 11 years. Honestly I would just buy it anyways because you never know.  And if the winter is anything like it was before I left Minnesota you aren't going to want that baby carrier weighing you done on one side while you try and not far on your face because of the ice.  But it's also depends on the stroller if it's good and tracks well on ice.  I don't know what last year's winter was like but they said it was pretty easy and not to much ice.  I left in 2014 and lived in Rochester we had about two inches of ice on the roads. You'll go out before 5 months your going to want to get out of the house with you baby. I would honestly get the stroller.

Yes, you will want/need to go outside and walk around or you will go crazy. Like a previous poster said, you may want to go to the mall, a museum, the library, literally anywhere.

I'd say yes. Where I live it gets cold too and my due date is December 9th. Even if it's cold it's important for your baby to get out and get fresh air daily. I plan on taking him on 15 minute walks, you just wanna make sure you have weather appropriate baby clothes
