Brown discharge on pill?

Yikes, I'm sorta panicking here! So, I'm on my third month of tri-linya pills and I had my "period" a little over two weeks ago. Today, I've been feeling some mild cramping and I had sex with my partner today (without a condom). After having sex and going to clean up in the bathroom, I noticed I was bleeding a little. My partner hadn't clipped their nails very well so I took it as being scratched up inside somewhere. A little later I went to the bathroom again and now there's brown discharge. This has never happened before and I'm wondering if it's a minor break-through period, or if I should be super concerned.
