Trouble

So I was with this guy for about 2 months and he got upset with me cause I told a friend what I have been doing with him. We didn't talk for a week then he hits me up saying he is sorry that he got mad and everything. Well on Tuesday he got arrested for AGG ASSLT and some other things. So my question is should I wait for him to get out(which will possibly be a long time like a year or less)and knowing know that he can do that to me or just let him be. and I found out that he was dating someone also.
