awful ultrasound(s)
So I'm a STM, but I've never run into this before at any of my previous ultrasounds. During my first trimester screening this past week, the baby was uncooperative for the tech and so she used the transducer a bit forcefully to really jostle my belly and get the baby to move. It wasn't comfortable at all and she kept doing it. Has anyone else had this happen?
To make a short question/story longer - I actually had to go to a "phase 2" ultrasound at a different office on the same day because the tech at my OB never got the images she needed. At the phase 2, I ended up having an internal and abdominal ultrasound done simultaneously (tech and dr at the same time). It was awful. They were doing the same thing - jiggling the wand and the transducer poking the baby, trying to get baby to flip for a better image of the nuchal fold. This happened for close to an hour. I was sore the next day. Not to mention the doctor pushed me into getting the MaterniT21 test even though I'm not high risk and I'm not 35 or older, which is a whole other story for another day. So now, naturally I'm concerned about baby - but I think everything is ok ... I would be happy to skip out on all future ultrasounds after this nonsense.
I guess the positive side is after 3 days my abdomen isn't sore anymore ... And I guess I'll get to find out the gender soon because of the MaterniT21 test, and whether my baby has any detectable chromosomal issues.
Just, ugh, though. I'm stressed out enough with chasing after a 1yr old and being pregnant/sick all of the time - I didn't need this extra worry wondering if they scrambled my baby. It makes me regret getting the first trimester screening at all.
