Should I be embarrassed?

So I'm 14 turning 15 next month. All my friends don't really work right now, some of them babysit though. Older friends 16+ work at restaurants. I need to work and get money but I tried babysitting and had no luck. So I made an application for chick fil a and they need me interview tomorrow. I am embarrassed because my friends and people I know are going to go to the restaurant and see me working. There all having fun and hanging out while I work. Should I be embrasssd ?

Why is it embarrassing to be paid? You will have more fun in your down time A because your not doing the same thing over and over every day B you'll have money in your pockets and way more options and C when you don't have to work and it's time to play you'll play hard and have great memories. Why be embarrassed? Your friends may laugh at first but then get super jealous when you have money and they don't. It may be a petty way to look at it but it's high school, high school is all about getting the pettiness out.
In my opinion if they laugh they aren't really your friends. And family members will be impressed by how mature you are.

I work at a fast food store and always have people I know come in. They're actually really good about it, like at least you have a job and are earning money :) its a bit embarrassing at the start (its a natural emotion) but it passes after a while :) good luck with your interview :)

I like it when my friends come to visit me at work! Also, you'll have money and can buy whatever, while they'll still be asking their parents for money 😏

Working has given me so much independence, and yeah going to work can be a pain, but I'd rather have my own money than be a scab, and I'd rather work than lie on mum's couch all day.

No! A job is a job. It doesn't matter. Your providing for your self so why be embarrassed, the more experience you have the better, so be proud your able to work

I can understand why you may feel embarrassed but honestly you are there to work and make money so you can go out and do things with those friends or even if you save the money you make. You should be more focused on working than them being there anyway just pretend it's a customer just like any other. Also if they work at restaurants too then they will understand.

How is a restaurant hiring a 14 or 15 year old? I thought you had to be at least 16 to work basically everywhere

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be more independent at a young age it shows how mature you are. If there going to make fun of you then there not really great friends. You'll do great
