6 weeks 1 day

Dr did an abdominal ultrasound and didn't see a heart beat. He said since he can see stuff with the adbdominal he didn't need to use a vaginal. Im freaking out. Anyone else not see a heartbeat this early but went on to have a healthy one?

Its Rediculously hard to see a heart beat at 6 weeks. We were 8 the first time we saw our wee ones xx

I've had my baby already but when we had our first ultrasound I was 8 weeks along and they had to do a vaginal ultrasound to see the heartbeat. it's probably just too early to see the heartbeat on the abdominal one🙂 don't worry too much!

6 weeks is early for a scan.  It's around this time they may be able to see a baby and heart beat, but just as likely can't.  If you ovulated/implanted a few days later, you wouldn't see a heartbeat. I assume the machine and whether it's abdominal or transvaginal influences how much they can see. I had a scan at 6 weeks and the HR was 109.  I was told by the tech it's borderline low and baby is too small, and had to wait 2 weeks for another scan.  That scan the baby was fine and a strong heartbeat.  I now refuse an ultrasound before 7 weeks because I don't need that unnecessary & extra anxiety!  There's a good chance your baby is fine Hun.
