blood pressure worries

Hi all
To start off with a reassurance, I have a follow up appointment on Monday, I'm just interested in your experiences 😀
My blood pressure has been hay-wire for a while this pregnancy. I have a touch of white coat syndrome, in that every time I'm at my doctors it reads high, but then drops again before I leave the office to well within normal ranges. However since I became pregnant it has been higher with the readings since 20 weeks being much higher.
At my 29 week appointment they put me on labetalol for my blood pressure as it finally crossed the 140/90 threshold they had set. I had trace protein in my urine, so they warned me about signs of pre-eclampsia and gave me protein sticks to test at home daily (still just trace). I do have headaches, but when I spoke to doc he said it's prob just side effect of medicine!
So I have been on this medication for two weeks, but it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference to my BP at all, which is frequently reading at 139/87ish at home. And my heart is absolutely racing.
I know they will likely just up my dose and I am taking things easy and will contact my doctor ahead of Monday if it goes back up over 140/90. But I am interested in other people's experience of this
Have you taken labetalol? What did you doctor indicate was the level they expected for "managed" blood pressure (I know that's tricky as it varies from person to person at times)? What implications did it have on your delivery (were you induced early? Were you allowed to go over due?)
I will of course clarify all of this with my own doc when I see him (I'll go in armed with questions which I should have asked at last visit but was too upset and shocked at the fact I was now going to have to take medication to think logically!)
Thank to you all
Ash
