What do contractions feel like???

Question

I've  never had menstrual cramps, so that comparison doesn't help me any... Can anybody give another comparison or describe them another way...

I would really appreciate it. 39 weeks today and I have alot of pressure and rumbling in my tummy...

I have yet to feel contractions but I've been told they feel like Charly horse (those terrible calf cramps) but in your stomach. After all a contraction is your muscles tensing up

Like someone is torturing you while you're awake and unmedicated

I had my first born 11 yrs ago and from what I remember the pain radiates on the sides of your belly to were you really can't point out a specific area where the pain is coming from.. But before you get intense contractions, you get cramps.. Like menstrual cramps but mine weren't bad at all in the beginning. I knew I was about to go into labor bc I hadn't cramped at all throughout my entire pregnancy and I started contracting a day before my due date. Hope this helps! :)
