Baby sleeping in your room?

Question

My husband has had two kids before me so he knows way more then me already. He said for 3 or more months the baby will sleep in our room so I need to buy a side sleeper or something. I don't plan on co sleeping or even having the baby in our room. But is it normal for it to sleep in your room?

What if I just have our pack and play in our room? We sleep upstairs so the whole time she sleeps In it the pack and play would be upstairs is the okay?

My children stayed with us for the first 6 months. We did the side sleeper and it made nursing a lot easier so I personally agree with your husband and this is pregnancy 4 for me.

For safety reasons of preventing SIDS a pack and play is not a sleeping option for a baby under 6moths they need a proper moses basket/bassinet or small side sleeper crib. Baby should be in your room for first 6mths.

I'm from the U.K. I don't know what a pack and play is but we usually use something like a small basket and stand (called a Moses basket) and keep the baby in that beside our bed . 
It's not that common for us to put baby in a separate room right away (though some do) 
It's honestly more hassle to get up and down all through the night as they are up and down to feed. 
It's much easier to have baby in your room beside you. In their own little basket.

Yeah it's normal for my family. The way I watched my mother raise and nature us. Baby sleeps in room until he or she is 1 then gets kicks out😂

They actually say baby should sleep in your room for 6 months - it helps reduce SIDS risks (I think because you are more aware of the baby and can hear if they stop moving and breathing..also if you are nursing it'll be easier)

I love side sleepers or bassinets but I think a pack and play will do. I love having baby near me when their that tiny. I like to check on their temperature and make sure they're breathing throughout the night.

Yes id definitely have the baby in my room. All 5 of mine were for at least the first year.
