difference in parenting style- help!!??

Babies cry! Sometimes more often than not. My LO is just a month old now. I do not believe you can spoil a baby and that when they cry you should respond to their needs so they build trust and feel loved and secure. My husband has a different view. He believes in letting him "cry it out", which drives me nuts and I go pick the baby up to soothe him. Then my hubby gets upset with me saying baby needs to learn to self soothe. However, the crying doesn't stop and baby is too young to self soothe neurologically. And baby likes to be cuddled and loved. Makes me angry/sad my husband does not listen to me on this issue and let's him cry like that. He always stops crying when he is held too.  I'm still on maternity leave but anxious going back to work if that's how he is going to handle his crying. Anyone else experiencing differences in parenting? How do I approach this issue without being offensive about it? It's bothering me!
