Tubes tied at 23?

So I have a 2 and 3 year old, both girls, and I'm pregnant with my first son. I don't really want anymore kids but I'm worried I might later on in life, I'll be 41 by the time all three of my kids are 18 and feel like I'll bee able to live a little myself and enjoy my time with my kids as adults too. Will I regret getting my tubes tied this early in age? It's it better?

Talk to your doctor. It is a surgery and all surgery comes with risks. You need to weigh the pros and cons with you doctor and make sure that you get all the information before you make a decision. Depending on your insurance, it may not be a covered procedure and so there may be a cost, sometimes thousands of dollars. And if you do change your mind it is a very expensive procedure to reverse. Women under 30 have the highest instance of regret when it comes to getting their tubes tied.

A safer surgery option is for your partner/husband to get a vasectomy. There are less risks, it is a much less invasive procedure, recovery is much faster, and has a lower failure rate.

It would also be a good idea to talk to your doctor about long term birth control options that are not surgical.

Personally i would opt for a long term contraception such as implant or injection. Even a coil. This way you don't need to have the problem of reversal if you change your mind and your protected same time. Reversal doesn't always work. Your body your decision but id await to later in life as you may have different views and later regret your decision.

Yes you probably will but it's ultimately up to you hun. I had mine tied at 21 after my second child and I thought I didn't want anymore but years passed and I changed my mind.
I had a reversal least year at 31 years old. Circumstances change. I'm now 33 weeks pregnant. Also Google ptls( post tubal ligation syndrome)

I'm 24 with 2 girls and expecting my first boy. My husband and I know we are both 100% sure that we are done. Our oldest is 7. We had her young and didn't get to do what normal teenagers get to do, even now there are things we just refuse to do because we do not like dropping off our kids in order to hang out with friends. So by the time were in our mid-30s our kids will be grown and in college and well be able to travel and do the things we've always wanted to do. My mother and his mother both had unplanned pregnancies near 40 years old and so we both have younger brothers that our parents have lacked in raising because they've just gotten lazy. My mom is amazing but is always working and my little brother suffers because of it.

We know we do not want kids after a certain age and in order for this to be prevented I will be getting my tubes tied and he will be getting a hysterectomy. Birth control is just something I don't believe in, I don't like the idea of all these hormones in my body and condoms aren't 100% effective. I also suffer from hypermesis and each pregnancy including this one has been absolutely horrible. I'm on constant pumps and IVs, progesterone shots, it's a mess.  I hear tubal reversal is extremely expensive and not always 100% effective. This decision can't be taken lightly, so if your having any sort of doubt even just a tad, then it's probably not the decision for you. I would wait it out and invest in some type of long term birth control.

You can always get it reversed if they're only tied (not burned or hysterectomy). However I would recommend getting an implant whether in your arm or tubes and when you decide 100% that you do not want more, then I would go through with getting them tied.

My doctor said he won't do anything permanent like that until I'm at least 30. I'm going to get long term birth control though. Have you talked to your doctor about it? If you think you may want kids later in life I wouldn't get your tubes tied.

I wouldn't make that decision now. I'm 25 and I have a girl.  Pregnant with a boy. Where my mind is at right now,  I don't want any more kids. I don't want to be pregnant again. BUT I'm so young, who knows how I'll feel in 5 years. I think you're deff too young unless you're 100% sure and it doesn't sound like you are.  If you don't want kids for a while I suggest getting an iud. I had the mirena in for 5 years, took it out , got pregnant and I'm having another one inserted after birth.
