Flu shot?

Did you get a flu shot when pregnant? And if you don't mind, share why you did or didnt.

I'm considering not getting one just because the last time I did it made me severely sick. Doctors will roll there eyes about it and say how good it is for you and how it doesn't make you sick but I call complete bullshit because I know I'm not the only one. And I've never had the flu as it is before.

I got it as getting the flu while pregnant can be very searious and can result in hospitalisation. I've never bothered before but I felt like it was worth it in this case. I had no side effects

I support vaccinations but for me, the flu shot is not tested long enough to trust. It is also only proactive against certain strains and is no guarantee, and frankly, the last time I got the flu was nine years ago RIGHT after getting my last flu shot.

Yes I absolutely did. The version given to pregnant women get is not a live virus so it is impossible that it made you sick. However I DO NOT think you're making it up at all that you got sick!!! Here's why... there are multiple versions of the flu out there at any given time. The vaccination that is in circulation is the one that covers the most prominent flu strain. If you got sick after getting the flu shot either it was already in your system or you got a different strain than what you were vaccinated against by pure bad luck. There's no documented proof that the flu shot is at all dangerous to pregnant women however getting the flu while pregnant carries absolute risk ( dehydration from vomiting or diarrhea, fever which can be dangerous to the baby)

Nope. My husband is a soecialized doctor and is completely against me getting it. It's all very shady.

I didn't get it. My doctor doesn't recommend vaccines during pregnancy and I completely agree with him. I've never had the flu shot and I've also never had the flu.

I got mine so that I wouldn't get as sick during flu season, I get is every year. I wasn't or didn't get sick from it, I got sick once like a week ago (it's now spring here in Aus)

It's a personal choice to be honest, it's really up to you; because everyone is different .. as per First Ladies comments who won't get it.

No I refused it after delivery too. The nurses straight up told me not to because my body had gone through so much, why would I want to get sick?

I got the flu shot while pregnant and got sick as all hell and considering you can't take many medications while pregnant the ones I COULD take didn't work for me. I was sick for nearly a month. I wouldn't suggest it but hey everyone has their opinions. I will not be getting it this pregnancy.

Every single time I've ever gotten the shot me and my entire family ended up with a horrible case of the flu. The shot is only for certain strain(s) of the flu and 99% of the time doctors have no idea what strain will be going around. For me I will always say no to the shot just based on my experience.
