Should I be pissed?

Question

I've liked this guy ever since I started school this year. We get along really well, and text often.
Anyway, I finally told some of my friends I like him. One of my not best friends but a friend found out. He decided to step in.
So he told the guy. 
I don't know exactly when, but I found out this morning. I talked with the guy before school (before j knew he knew) and as soon as I found out about it, he's been distant.
I'm afraid my friendship with this guy is ruined, and I really like him.
What should I do?
Is it valid to be mad at my "friend" for telling him?

I cant vote because im kinda torn. Yes id be mad too but maybe they were just trying to help? Idk id talk to your friend and tell them youre upset. Either way, i hope you dont lose your guy friend over this. Id talk to him too and explain the situation. Tell him youre good still being friends even if he doesnt like you back

I'd be mad that my friend told him before I got a chance to, but I would just confront the dude. Be like yeah I like you, but if you don't like me back that's cool just let me know bc I ain't trying to ruin the friendship we got. It might just be me but I've never been scared to tell I guy I like him, the worst he can say is I don't like you back. Thats what I would do in your situation, you have to communicate with people.

Just like Savvy said, I'd be mad too, but maybe your friend was just trying to help. If that's the case I believe she should have asked you first before telling him though

Might ask yourself is he really being distant or is it you feeling weird about it because now you know he knows?

Talk to him. Tell him his friendship means a lot to you and that no one has the right to tell him how you feel except you. Play it cool. No one has to force a relationship to go there just because it becomes known that one or both parties would like to see it do so. Be content with hanging back to see where the friendship goes - and tell him that!

Yes and no. If he is distant now, the person you like, it's probably because he doesn't feel the same way. 
Better to know now, that he doesn't like you the same way, than to spend weeks or even months investing all that time for the same outcome.
