Abnormal prolactin levels and infertility?

Question

I had PCOS diagnostic labs done 2 weeks ago and just got a call back from the doctor stating that everything came back normal except for the prolactin levels.. she thinks I may have a pituitary gland tumor and referred me to a radiologist to have an MRI done of my brain.. I really just want answers after such a long time (approximately 2 years) of TTC with no luck..

Has anyone else been through something similar with abnormal prolactin levels?

Mine were highly elevated at 15, and I had never had a period. Started my medication and have had to remain on it ever since. There are two types they will generally give you, Cabergoline or Bromocriptine. Bromocriptine has been used for years during pregnancy so that is what I am taking, however Cabergoline does not have as many side effects for you such as nausea but it has not been on the market near as long. Most women can successfully take the meds and reduce the size of the tumor, at which point you no longer have to take them. However, my tumor has neither grown not shrunk in 5 years. So I will more than likely be stuck taking meds and have yearly MRI's for a long time. Generally, they won't operate unless it's over 10 mm and that is called a macroprolactinoma. Under 10 mm is microprolactinoma. That is what I have, it's 8 mm. My OB  tried to take me off my meds when I first got pregnant, but at 15 weeks, the levels were sky high 380-410 and I had to be started back on meds. The level has stayed withing the 380-410 range the whole time until 35 weeks, and it was unstable at 540. (Regular breastfeeding levels are 300-400, pre-pregnancy is usually 24 or less, during third trimester around 200) 400 or less is considered stable. Mine was 236 when I found out about it at 15. I had no problems getting pregnant whatsoever, but I didn't have any problems effecting fertility but this.
