Amnioreduction anyone???

Question

Hey ladies.

Any of you been diagnosed with polyhydramnios -- too much amniotic fluid? Mine developed a couple weeks ago and continues to climb, causing a lot of discomfort and problems breathing -- especially at night when lying down (even if I'm lying on my side as recommended). I almost fainted during my last ultrasound!

I'm going to the hospital this Thur morning to have an amnioreduction done. Any of you ever had this? How scary and painful was it for you?

Please pray for me if you're someone who prays. And pray that my baby will keep still and cooperate. I'm in Wk 30 and she is an extremely active little girl. I'm a little nervous about her coming in contact with the needle.

I was going to comment yesterday, but I don't have firsthand experience- my sister in law had to have it, and it went perfectly. I can't remember how much fluid they took, but it was a lot, and she felt amazing afterwards.

I guess no one can relate to this ???

Bummer... was hoping to hear from real experiences. But I guess this condition is pretty rare (1%) and I imagine the percentage of women opting for this is significantly lower than that.

Anyway, I hope none of you had to suffer from this.
