Baby measures small - 33 Weeks 4 days
So I went to my gynea yesterday for yet another checkup yesterday at 33w4d. She confirmed that my little girl had not yet engaged and is currently in breach position and that we most likely will have to do a c-section at 38 weeks. She was furthermore very cryptic about there being reasons for why babies don't turn although she didn't give me any but reached for the sonar instead. Baby's head measured 31w3d and stomach 30w3d.
She said everything is in proportion and she might just be a small baby, or the lack of growth might be due to something more sinister so she's sending me for a full fetal assesment tomorow, because other than baby measuring small there are no indications that something is wrong and we need to take a deeper look.
I went for 4d Ultrasounds at 17 and 25 weeks at which time the sonographer did a decent look through, at brain, heart, stomach, lungs, placenta, umbilical chord etc. And on both occassions they confirmed that baby was perfect and on par ito growth with no abnormalities.
Dr. Yesterday also confirmed that my BP, baby's heartbeat, placenta and uterine fluids are perfect but I can't help being concerned over why she's all of a sudden measuring 2-3weeks smaller than she's supposed to, especially since up to now she's always measured in terms of weight and size exactly according to her gestational age. Dr. confirmed she now weighs 3.68lbs although she's not too concerned about weight but rather about measurements. She is a busy little bee and her movements are also still regular so there's been no decrease in that or any other signs that she might be in distress.
Has anyone else had similar feedback from doctor, and what were your outcomes? Really just looking for some reassurance, since the doctor isn't saying much aside from that everything looks fine and that it may just be a case of being a smaller baby, but in any event she just wants to make sure it's not a case of there being something wrong that might cause delay in growth. Other than the news today I've had a wonderful pregnancy with no complications and get a clean bill of health and development with each visit.
It is normal to be worried and I won't be at peace until we get full assesment and results tomorrow, but I need some encouragement and will take it wherever I can get it at this point, and would really like to hear from any of you ladies who might have had a similar experience x
