I have two good friends who are infant and child deietitans and neither of them recommend rice cereal, in a bottle or in any other form, really. It is nutritionally void, bland (not great for developing taste buds), highly processed and not as easy to digest as some may think. There is no scientific proof that putting rice cereal in a bottle is actually helpful or helps baby sleep longer, which is why most people do it. And most people introduce it way too young, before their digestive track is mature enough to really handle it. It's an outdated practice and that is completely anacdotal. People will tell you "it worked for me!" but there could have been other factors involved at the same time. I'd never do it. And I just skipped cereals altogether with my kids, went straight for read food like produce.

The aap does not recommend giving cereal via bottle. This is outdated information. The only exception would be reflux under the advice of a pediatrician.
