Super confused on Sleep

Kat • Loves being a Mama so far.
We have recently moved our 7 month old to his crib, he generally nurses to sleep or we wrap him up and rock him to sleep, then we lay him down. He wakes a couple times at night and this is when it can be challenging to get him back to sleep. His Dad and I disagree about how to handle this once all needs have been met, like fed, changed, addressing if he may be to hot or to cold. His Dad says cry it out, but I worry that may not be good for him. And the Internet is no help either, there are reputable claims for both point of views. What are your thoughts? Below is a link to a psychology today article that highlights the dangers of the cry it out method. I'd love any advice or personal experiences. The article makes it sound as if cry it out will emotionally and developmently harm the child, so confused.
