Too early for a 4D?

Is 26 weeks too early for a 4D scan?

My doctor told me that it's better 26-28 weeks, but I'm having mine done tomorrow and I'm 30 weeks(which they say is "too far along" and I "may not see anything" because there " isn't enough room.")

I wouldn't say too early, but they do say that baby's features are more solid the farther along you are (by solid I mean what they look like in the US is closer to what they'll look like at birth).
