Braxton Hicks?

Could anyone explain from personal experience what braxton hicks feels like and when the began experiencing them.

The best way I can describe them is like a blood pressure cuff squeezing your uterus. You can feel your uterus getting tight over several seconds and then it loosens.  It's annoying and sometimes uncomfortable like a blood pressure cuff when it gets to the tightest point, but doesn't hurt.  I started having contractions at 20 weeks but I know that's not usually the case.  My contractions are more regular and last several hours at times, instead of random like Braxton Hicks normally are.  But they are never painful and haven't dilated my cervix (although my cervix had shortened and effaced).

Mine started around the 30 weeks.  It felt like my stomach clenching,  my stomach got rock hard for a few seconds but it didn't hurt.
