Horrible to want the NT screening to see baby again?

It sounds horrible,  but I love this little peanut so much already and I have a lot of anxiety. Our 7 week scan was all good, but it just makes me so nervous to know that we won't have another until about 20 weeks. My husband and I opted out of the screening because we wouldn't terminate if anything was positive anyway

I see you said you're in Canada, so luckily you don't have to worry about what us Americans do - the cost (jealous of that factor 😂). Now, the scan isn't going to end in abortion if the results are bad, you have to realize that! I honestly preferred getting it done because if my baby was positive for issues, it gave me the ability to prepare mentally, as well as seek further testing. And not going to lie, but seeing him was a large factor as well! I'm guilty of that.

So if you truly want to do this, go ahead!

If you really don't want to know if there are issues then don't get the NT scan. First, it's a waste of resources because yes in Canada it's covered but our health care system pays for it. Also, they will take your blood and do the measurements and you will get the results, so if you don't want to know, then don't do it.

Well the screening doesn't have to determine if you would abort or not. It is also to prepare you if there is an issue. I feel that it's better to know be prepared, than caught off guard and overwhelmed

That's not horrible, I feel the same way. I want to see my little one again. We also chose not the test so I'm just going to have to sit tight and wait til the next ultrasound.

Nope. Only reason I didn't I did t care about results. I also trusted in god my baby would be ok. The genetic specialist tasked if we wanted to talk about further testing of the result came back abnormal. I said "Nope I'm Only here for pictures".

If you don't actually care about the results a private scan may be cheaper. For the nt scan, high risk ob consult, blood work and genetic consult I'm paying about $500 after insurance. A private scan just to see the baby would have been around $50.
