This is kinda long sorry. So there is this guy I'm gonna call him Rob in this story. I saw Rob first in kindergarten and we met in first grade. I had a little crush on him but I think he still believed in cooties so he didn't like me back. But I didn't wanna date him I was 5 I disnt know what love was. So we were friends for a long time and were currently in 8th grade and we basically have the same schedule. So Rob knew that I had a baby crush on him in 1st grade. Then suddenly (8th grade) I noticed he started flirting a lot. And I had just got out of a relationship with this guy and I decided not to date in middle school because middle schoolers don't know how to have a relationship. Now Rob is a really cute guy. He would touch my arms and hands a lot and try to grab my hands and ditch his work projects to work with me(he's smart like me) always asked me who I liked. And always said no one because honestly no one. One night he told me "he used to like me" but I could tell he still did. So now his flirting isn't as much as it used to be but still we kinda flirt back and forth so idk if he still likes me. So I developed a crush on him again, but I'm hesitant on telling him for a number of reasons. 1. I don't want him to ask me out and then me say no and explain because I don't want to date during middle school. And you're probably thinking we'll he should respect that right? Well so I dated 3 people in middle and they are all black and I'm also black. I don't want him to think that I don't wanna date him because he's white because that's not it. And plus if we do date and break up then we might loose the friendship we had since 1st grade. 2. What if he stopped liking me. I mean we flirt like everyday but like he could just be acting nice or something. I don't really know as you can tell. So I was wondering if I should say something or not.
Options:
1. You might ruin the great friendship you had
2. If he likes you back don't date him be in a flirtationship no dating or titles. (Don't know if this one is a good one tho)
3. Flirt till he asks you about it
4. You've been friends to long or you waited to long to tell him.
5. I have a better way.
Btw: some other stuff he lets me braid his hair (it's like not that long but long enough to braid) and tells other girls to stop
He always smiles around me. And in the hallway we're always at the back of the line and walking with our arms touching. And my friends and his friends see us and they think we would be a cute couple and stuff.
