how to poop after stitches?

Please help me I gave birth on the 27th October and had a tear. They stitched me up and it was very painful! Now I'm scared to have a poop! Will it hurt? Any tips? Xx

Drink lots of water and take one colace stool softner a day.it should keep ur stools soft enough to not be painful

Witch Hazel liquid was the most amazing thing ever for my tear. I bought it at Walmart for 6 bucks - not the pads, the actual bottle of it. Also, keep up with stool softeners. They helped A TON and it surprisingly didn't hurt.... And then I thought I was hood enough to not take them anymore and boy was I wrong!!! Keep taking them until your 100% sure your good to go.

Stool softeners are your best friend. I was so scared to poop but luckily it wasn't painful at all. But keep up with the stool softeners for a while 👍🏼

Yep, felt like I was pooping glass the first few times :( it gets better though! Like someone else suggested, definitely take stool softener regularly. What helped me most was pressing a damp cloth against my stitches while I was on the toilet to keep from feeling like I was going to pop them open. I would shift my weight from one cheek to the other while sitting to kind of help things along without having to strain, as glamorous as that sounds :) just go slow and take deep breaths. Hope you heal up quickly!

It will hurt at first, but it gets better. Squirt some warm water afterwards to help a little and use baby wipes for an easier clean. I would just clean up by patting around my stitches! I t gets better but it is scary and painful at first
