My mom and I just had this convo. I'm only 13 weeks, but it was causing me some anxiety about how this all works. I read that customarily the mother of the mother shouldn't throw it because it give the impression that your family is just trying to get you things for the baby, ehen they should be the ones helping with that...I'd why it would be any different if my MIL threw it...Idk considering her son is the father...but apparently it's less taboo....a friend or distant relative should throw them....anyway. my MIL will most likely host mine, or my husbands aunt, who also hosted our wedding 💞   it doesn't much matter to me, it'll be mostly family at it anyway, I just wanted to prepare my mom and let her know this was going to be a day for her to enjoy with us...and not do all the work for....
