Can you go into labor when you feel fine?

I'm 39 weeks today with no signs of baby and I feel fine. No cramping or anything. Has me discouraged that I'll go into labor any time soon. Can you feel fine and then out of nowhere go into labor? Or is it always after hours of feeling unwell

It can happen very suddenly! Don't feel discouraged, just get out and walk as much as possible.

My mom said she felt fine the whole day before she went into labor with me. She said she wasn't having any contractions or anything, she just got up to go talk to my dad in another room and bam her water broke. I'm a ftm so I have no idea, but I've asked my mom all about this as she has had 5 children.

I have with all 3. Nothing and then I'm in labor. I expect the same with this one. Don't get discouraged, we're getting close!

You aren't always miserable before hand. You can just randomly start contracting or have your water break

I never had any warning. Felt fine right up until contractions hit and they progressed very fast.

I was 2 days overdue, dialated to 2 and felt great until midnight the pains started

My water broke about 40 mins after I got home from work- I had been teaching all day with no noticeable signs of labor. I thought my daughter was just moving in uncomfortable way- wonder now if those were actually contractions I was feeling but I was fine otherwise. Baby girl was born 12 hours later.
