Breastfeeding question
A little back story: My first born I tried very hard to breastfeed, but my supply only lasted about a month (and even then I had to supplement with formula before the month was up). I believe this was due to a combination of stress (I had 2 grandparents I was close to pass away shortly after he was born) and me having inverted nipples which made latching more difficult for my son. I tried a nipple shield with him but even then he still didn't seem to be able to get much. I was most successful when I used a pump & just let him eat from a bottle. So this time around I was thinking about just pumping & letting this baby primarily eat from the bottle to avoid latching difficulties....is this a bad thing to do? My best friend believes my supply won't last past 3 months if I just pump & don't actually feed from the breast....is this correct? Even though my son was primarily formula fed & is a perfectly healthy 3 yr old, I would really like to make breastfeeding work this time if I can. Thanks in advance! 😁
