Restrictions to clothing while pregnant?

I've had people tell me I can't wear certain things and they say, 'that would be cute if you weren't pregnant'. I'm just confused as to why you can't wear certain things 'just because you're pregnant'. Please let me know what you think.

People are insane. They just like to seem like they know something you don't. You can wear whatever you damn please. I wear a mix of maternity clothing and my regular clothes and it all works. Oh and I throw in some of my husband's clothes too for good measure 😅 Don't let anyone tell you you can't wear something because you're pregnant. Do they tell your husband he can't wear things anymore because he's going to be a Dad? No.

My MIL gets mad when I wear leggings because she says the baby doesn't like it and it's too tight. But all I wear is leggings.
