Sex after tear?

So if I remember correctly, the nurses said I had a second degree tear so they used a suture instead of stitches or whatever.. on my discharge forms it says not to have sex for the first 6 weeks.. wasn't planning on doing so just because of the healing process.. but wondering how did it feel, after the tear, to have sex? Was it painful? Was it normal?

It's only been a week and 3 days and I'm already craving my hubby.. I'm not going to have sex until I get that green light because I want to heal perfectly and make sure I'm good first.

They tell you to wait not because of the superficial tearing on your labia, etc. but because of what's going on inside your uterus. It's to prevent uterine hemorrhage.

I had a second degree tear with my first. Waited at least 6 weeks, and it may have been longer bc we were so sleep deprived lol. But the first few times were not comfortable for me. In fact, I thought that first time afterwards was worse than my first time ever 😳 I was very dry due to breastfeeding (even though I was super excited and hubby put in the ground work), which can cause some women to have trouble getting wet. My doc said it's actually pretty common. After lots of patience and trying different lubes, things did get back to normal with time (my hormones balancing out was the biggest contributor.). In fact, doggy-style became one of my fav positions when before I had been just "meh" about it. So it may be rough at first - hopefully not, but it will get back to normal 😉

Only have sex if you feel comfortable doing so afterwards. I had to have 4-5 stitches and I was okay after 3 weeks or so and we had sex after 4-1/2 weeks. It heals a lot faster than you think. It's just really sore for the first little but where it's new.
