How do you know the difference between implantation bleeding and a period ?

Ok thank you. I had really light pinkish sporting when I wiped only now today I wiped and it's a tad heavier and darker. I noticed a snotty blood glob that looked weird and gross and didn't know if it was just period or maybe the implantation. I think probably period. Thank you for your response and help.

Implantation bleeding tends to only be when you wipe and is light pinkish. Obviously your period is dark red and you need a pad or tampon or something.

Implantation bleeding might be like the start of your period but then it never gets heavier and then stops after a day or so.

And implantation is supposed to happen before your period usually comes (6-12 DPO for implantation vs. average of 14 DPO for period).
