No bloodwork with nuchal screening?

My doctor booked me in for a nuchal screening, however I thought you needed to have bloodwork with the test? I had initial prenatal bloodwork done a couple weeks ago.

I have not done this yet but I thought they use an ultrasound to measure the nuchal fold (fluid on the neck) and not blood work. If it comes back thick then I think they can do a comprehensive blood panel. I'm not an expert though but just what I thought.

I don't know if this is how it works.. But I think blood work is done if they see a big nuchal fold.

I had this today...was scheduled for the counseling, then the NT ultrasound, then to the lab. But since I have an anteverted uterus, baby was in an odd position and they couldn't get a measurement...they told me that I wasn't going to get the bloodwork after all and told me to go get the NIPT instead (which is what I initially asked for). Maybe the NT was normal for your baby and they didn't think the bloodwork was necessary?

Maybe that's it. Everyone was telling me they had blood work scheduled immediately after.
