Can't believe I'm actually seeing girls on here complaining about being proposed to with no ring, can't have a wedding because their SO is broke and just girls who are all about materialistic things.

Why so ungrateful? Be happy someone wants to put up with you forever or until they realize how selfish you're being. Hah!

I don't understand it either! Girls expect way too much these days. My husband bought me this ring from the pawn shop. I told him a long time before this that I didn't want a big fancy ring that cost a bunch of money, I'd rather put that money towards our house or something else not just something that's going to sit on my finger all day everyday. I think it's beautiful and the fact he loves me enough to asked me to marry him is all that matters. Not the ring.

Beyonce's single ladies was playing at my boyfriend's house and he goes and takes a funyon and places it on my finger. He said "Your not single so I put a ring on it." Honestly, my ideal proposal is marry me spelled out on pizza in sausage and pepperoni. I didn't need anything fancy to know that he loves me, I just need to question to make it official.

My husband and I picked this out together we are going to Mexico next year he wants to get something nicer then, I told him it isn't necessary but he wants to as gold is cheaper and it's his home country and he loves beautiful things but when we became engaged I didn't have a ring for a couple weeks, found this at Walmart and I'll tell you one thing nothing makes me feel as loved as when I look at this ring and know that he chose me to spend his life with, it's a feeling of pride, I would feel the same with a 10 dollar ring. :)

My BF has been proposing "for fake" for the past four or five months. We call them fake proposals because he doesn't get down on one knee and he doesn't have the money for a ring. He is borrowing some from his mom soon and he will buy a cheaper option, then we'll consider ourselves truly engaged. We want the legitimate proposal question and a legitimate symbol of security. I told him to spend a maximum of $500 so hopefully he doesn't go overboard. Like $200 is good too. Some people spend $4000 or more.

Personally, I would appreciate a ring as a tangable thing to wear as a symbol. BUT, it doesn't have to be like 3000. I'm happy with something that's 90$. My boyfriend and I are broke college students and I get that we can't afford anything lavish. 
I'm just happy he wants to be with me for eternity! A verbal prpoposal is just as meaningful and sweet
