Is it okay to have a second baby shower if the baby's the opposite sex? My So's mom doesn't think so.

Yes. Often, parents need the second baby shower more than the first! I've never understood only having a shower for the first, but maybe that is just my generation.

Alot of older people people feel that you shouldnt have a baby shower after the first kid, but i disagree. Each pregancy needs a shower 😊

my mother in law has 7 children the first 2 were boys. they had a shower for the first one but since she had the stuff for the second boy she didn't get a shower. but her 3rd was girl and she was thrown a shower because it was a different gender. you can do whatever you want. doesn't matter what other cultures do or if people will frown upon you. you could always just have a get together and people bring gifts then they do.

I know people who have have 2 baby showers but each with different people. For example one with friends and one with family or one with coworkers and one with everyone else. I don't think it's too polite though to have 2 baby showers with the same people and except them to bring gifts twice.

I had a shower with both of mine they are six years apart so I literally had nothing!! I had donated everything I had!! And my second was going to be my last so I donated everything again to a family that had lost everything so I'll be having another shower for this one as well.

My first was a girl. My second was a boy so we had a shower. I won't be having a shower this time because we still have everything from both and seasons are the same. I think we are going to have a BBQ to celebrate but we will say no gifts. My friend mentioned doing a diaper shower but I told her it's not necessary. I wouldn't be surprised if she ignores me though! Lol

Here in the south our culture definitely frowns on a baby shower for a 2nd kid, no matter if the sexes are different. I think it's silly! I do know people that have had a "sprinkle" which is like a mini baby shower
