Tips for pregnancy?

My sister has been trying for a few years to get pregnant and is very discouraged and doesn't have the money for drugs or ivf. Does anyone have any tips or anything to help her? She wants one so bad and I feel bad for her. She's about to be 31 and is going to give up in 2 years

My absolute best advice is to stop trying. Not give up as in go back on bc but stop trying. There really is something to the idea that when you stop making the effort (ie stop stressing so much which absolutely affects fertility) , you get pregnant. Easier said than done, absolutely. But my guess is she's stress to the point where it's affecting her body.

Well, I don't know how hard your sister has been trying, so I apologize if this is stuff she already knows, but I found it really helpful to track my cycles using this app and pinpointing my most fertile days with ovulation tests. Timing really is very important!

If she's been trying for a few years chances are something else is going on rather than her just stressing about it. Took us about a year to conceive and I had a hormone blood test done by my OBGYN to rule out any issues. The blood test is done on the 3rd day of your period and you get the results within a week or two. If all checks out there my OB moved on to checking for bacteria. We ended up being put on antibiotics for ureaplasma which is a bacteria some couples have in which OBs don't know how/why they get it but it can cause infertility (or so they think). After 10 days of antibiotics the next cycle we got pregnant. However, if that didn't work there  was going to be one more blood test and then on to an HSG where they inject dye into your uterus/fallopian tubes to make sure everything is functioning fine and there aren't any blockages (a friend of mine found out this way she only had one functioning Fallopian tube and it was completely blocked. After the HSG she got pregnant immediatlely but had to have a second HSG to conceive her 2nd child). My SO was also going to have his sperm tested through his doctor (it's easiest for men to get tested for infertility than for women to have to go through all the steps above). Sorry for the long message but I hope this gives her some inexpensive steps before giving up/going to IVF. Most docs don't test for ureaplasma but it's really important!

It is worth going to a doctor to see if there is something physically or hormonally preventing pregnancy for them. Her husband should get tested too! They never have to do any treatment they are uncomfortable with, for financial or other reasons. I've been there. It is hard and sad. Trying different "remedies" or "not trying" won't be as effective as knowing if/what is causing trouble for them specifically. It might be hard work to get pregnant, but I hope they get there soon!

I tried for 3 months with no results. In march I decided that I wanted to go to Barbados for carnival the end of July beginning of August. Stopped tracking and got a gym membership to tone up for vacation and found out I was pregnant in may....needless to say I spent weeks 15 & 16 in Barbados and Miami!

I'm only 21, so there's a bit of an age difference between myself and your sister... When the father and i were trying, I tracked everything for the first cycle, but my cycles were regular every 28-29 days, not a day more or less.. When i didn't get pregnant, the first trying cycle, not gonna lie i cried for a few days.. Then i said to myself, i'm just not going to track so hard... I gave up symptom spotting, deleted all my apps, and just said hey if it happens it happens, if it doesn't it doesn't, i stopped stressing myself over it.. And from almost all the videos i have seen and posts i have read online, thats what alot of women did and they got pregnant within a few cycles. The best i can tell your sister, is to stop trying so hard at trying.. Let her body do it's thing, and relax.. The more she stresses and worries about it, the less likely it is to happen, and that can cause a phantom pregnancy (thinking so hard you are w/o ever actually being pregnant) i hope this helped..
