Change of Birth Control?

January is my annual well-woman check up. I've been using the Nuva-ring as my contraceptive since last January, and I like it, it has worked perfectly at regulating my period and preventing pregnancy. But me and my long term boyfriend have decided that we don't want children anytime soon, if at all, so I've been thinking about getting either a IUD or maybe the shot, but I didn't want to make the decision without hearing from you ladies about your experiences with these birth controls. So let me know what you think the best course of action would be :)
