Hypothyroid "healed"
Ok so I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few years ago, in another country. I started taking my medication whilst I was still there. I came home and continued to take my medication as prescribed.
I went to my regular doctor to let him know what happened and that I was diagnosed. I was taking my medication for a good 6 months, when we did some blood tests which came back normal. This to me, means that my medication dose was correct and enough to stabilize my disease. My doctor, on the other hand, took me off the medication completely.
Since then it has been about 2 years and I haven't taken any medication since. I don't know what happened, or why I allowed him to cancel my medication. Ever since then, all my symptoms have come back and I feel like shit. I've been going to numerous doctors trying to explain what happened and trying to find a solution (which to me is: medication).
But the thing is, I've been getting bloods done and they keep coming back "within the normal range". I don't understand this. What is normal for someone else, might not be normal for me! And what if I feel better at different / higher levels? At the levels that I am right now, I don't feel well or healthy– i feel down, depressed, fat, weak, achy, cold, and the list goes on. Why can't any doctor understand that how I feel is more important?
No doctor has ever asked me "well how are you feeling?" No, as soon as I mention "hypothyroidism" they say "OK– blood test!" The tests are done, they're 'fine', so off I go, out the doctor's office.
This is a long post and I apologize but I'm so just sick and tired of incompetent and useless doctors. I don't know what to do. I feel shit and I am still in this community because i still feel myself struggling with it, no matter what the doctors' results are saying. And if it's not hypothyroidism, then what is it? Because I don't feel "within the normal range" or "well". And why won't any doctor listen to me, hear me out and above all else help me be better?!
