Someone else announcing your child's name??

So, I was a little annoyed I guess you could say because me and my SO didn't have the chance to really announce to everyone what our child's name is and a friend took it upon herself to post it. Am I wrong for feeling a little upset?

My MIL posted it on Facebook like 10 times before I even announced it. Worst of all she decided instead of him being "Carter" that she was going to call him "CJ" because his middle name was James. It pissed me off so bad that I changed his middle name just so she couldn't call him that anymore 😂😂

No. That's your special moment. That is yours to announce or not. It should've been your choice and your friend ruined it. I'd be so pissed. This is why I'm not telling anyone anything during my pregnancy until I want everyone to know. I'm not even telling anyone I'm in labor when I have a child because of how my family is. I might call my best friend, but no one else.
