Did he/she say "I love you" back?

I love known for awhile now that I love my boyfriend, but we've only been going out for a couple of months. I just KNOW he's the one . Things just feel so different with him than previous guys I've dated. I want to tell him that I love him, but I will be so hurt if he doesn't say it back. If you were the first one to say I love you, did your SO say it back?

I brought it up in a conversation that I loved him about 4 months into dating. He stated that he has strong feelings for me but he wasn't ready to use that word just yet. No hard feelings. I completely understood that it doesn't happen at the same time for both people in the relationship. About a month later he told me he loved me 😊 
We are now married.

My now husband was afraid to actually say it.  He fell asleep at New Years and I was upset. While we talked about it he told me that he was mad at himself because he thought maybe I was going to tell him I loved him when the ball dropped. I of course did love him and so I told him, and he said it back. It was cute lol

My bf was the first to say it. After a week we were at a party and we were standing outside and he just goes "you know, I'm falling in love with you"
It was so sweet. 
Bring it up as a conversation. Everyone's different. I didn't really feel in love with my bf until after about 6months (I had a bad relationship before him)

I think we had been dating for a few months and I told my SO I loved him when we were out at a bar and he didn't say it back and I sat there and sobbed!! It was incredibly awkward and embarrassing for us and the people around us. 🙄 A week or so later we were fishing and he told me he loved me standing on the dock with the sun setting. Gah, he couldn't do anything normal lol we've been married for 3+ years and I still can make him feel bad about doing that to me 😂
