Going through your partners phone?

Do you ladies think it's okay to go through your partners phone? Or do you think it's pointless because you should trust them and have some boundaries.

It's nobody's place to go through anyone else's phone other than their own. If you can't talk to your partner like an adult, then you shouldn't be in a relationship. If you can't trust your partner without looking through their phone, then you shouldn't be in a relationship. I think it's so childish. And no, just because you don't want anyone looking through you phone doesn't mean you have something to hide. It means you like your privacy. It means others should respect it. Now if your partner asks you to read or text something for them, play music, look up something, play a game...That's all different and with permission. But if you have to snoop and look through their phone behind their back, then that's just pathetic. You need trust and communication in order for a relationship to work. If you don't have that, then there shouldn't be a relationship to begin with.

I have such phone anxiety for absolutely no reason. I have nothing to hide from anyone—especially not my boyfriend—but no matter how hard I try to relax about it, I just have a huge fear of people using my phone.

I don't care if they don't have anything to hide and are completely innocent I'm still not going through their phone. It's rude and an invasion of privacy. I don't care if you asked their permission you need to get your back on your face instead of in their business. Just because they don't want you looking through their phone doesn't mean they have something to hide. Would you want your so looking through your phone? No you wouldn't regardless if you have something to hide.

It's something that should be discussed with your partner. Sometimes me and my partner will use each other's phones, but we don't go through messages or photos to find out of we are doing anything "bad".

I will not give a partner my phone is they suspect that I am up to no good. Because I am not hiding anything, and they should be able to trust me. I have a lot of anxiety with people going through my stuff like that to the point I don't feel comfortable letting people do it, even if I am not hiding anything.

My hubby and I use each others phones all the time. We don't exactly go thru each other's phone but if we did it doesn't really matter. I feel like people who are offended by it probably have something to hide. I find it weird when people say "oh I just like my privacy." Why would you have something private from your SO? Aren't they the person you want to spend the rest of your life with?

It depends. I think most of the time, its pointless since i trust them and they have business just for their own eyes. Although, if something was happening or i suspect something, i would step within those boundaries. Its all based on situation for me.

There shouldn't be a problem with it. It's not an invasion of privacy unless you have something to hide. Nothing should be private between partners especially since I'll let him go through my phone any time he wants.

There should be enough trust that he/she should let you go through out without hesitation. There shouldn't be any privacy because if there's trust, you should also be able to trust them to go through your phone.
