question on birth control?

so my doctor told me about a month ago if i didn't get my period in October to start my new birth control on the first of November, and this is the first time I've ever been on the pill. eve had me scheduled for my period today without the pill, but I started it on the 1st. Should I be worried that I didn't get my period today? I figured I won't get it till my pill schedule but I thought I might get a little blood atleast. Please help!!
