My (long) October birth story ππ πΆπ½
Well it all kicked off for me at 5:20am when I rolled over in bed and my waters broke, pains started straight away. Contractions were so much more painful than I could have ever imagined and cannot even describe I was in labour for 19 hours and ended up getting an epidural which wore off at the end and I felt everything at the end when I was pushing but I guess I wasn't pushing effectively and ended up having an assisted forceps delivery after pushing for over an hour and my beautiful baby girl was placed on my chest at 1:20am on oct 16th. Whilst I was starting at my gorgeous bundle and overwhelmed with joy I was loosing a lot of blood for an internal tear and episiotomy, they attempted to stitch me up and stop the bleeding in the delivery room but I had to hand my baby over to my fiancΓ© and was whisked off to theatre, everything was then a bit of a blur, I got a fever and was told I had sepsis. whilst I was in recovery my baby was taken to the NICU to be treated with antibiotics incase my infection was passed on to her, they also discovered she had very low blood sugar levels and was hypoglycaemic, I was on a separate ward and hooked up to an in with antibiotics and still unable to move my legs, being separated from her was the worst thing. We were in the NICU for 5 days before she could regulate her blood sugars and we could go home! those 5 days were the longest and most painful of my life. Seeing my gorgeous baby hooked up to monitors and machines being fed through a tube in her nose broke my heart. She is now just over 3 weeks old and absolutely perfect!! my heart is so full! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
