What does your doctor do when she checks your vagina?

I went to get a sports physical today and the check in lady gave me a paper and it said if i had sex and if we use protection and if i use other birthcontrol besides condoms and etc. i check in yes for the question that asks if i had sex if we do use protection . We have been heave been for a year and 7 months and i was ready and so was he so we lost our virginities to eachother. When the doctor finally came to do my physical and my mom was in the room too, she showed me the paper i filled out and pointed to the questions about sex and asked if my mom knew (my mom doesnt speak english fluently but she understands)    And I said no. The doctor then asked me if it was okay if my mom stayed in the room or if she got out . And i didnt want to kick my mom out my doctor also asked to check my vagina but i was on my period but my question is will the doctor tell my mom i had sex  ? And what does your doctor do when she checks yours?
