When to test

I am not TTC, but I figured this would be the place to ask. Over Halloweekend my partner and I broke a condom. I am not on bc, but we went to Walgreen's within an hour of the incident and got an emergency contraceptive which I immediately took. By the next weekend, my period had come 2 weeks earlier than expected. I'm off my period now, but not quite to my first period day. I bought a test that is supposed to detect the hormone on the first day of your cycle without even thinking about when I could test. So I was wondering if I should go ahead and test now or wait until the day my period was originally supposed to start.
