You can still bleed during pregnancy, i did. I never had particularly heavy periods anyway. I found out at 33 weeks because i went to the drs about serious heartburn every day. You can imagine my surprise and stress at having 7 weeks to get ready to be a mum!

You can have bleeding every month, it's not technically your period, but looks like it. Someone i know well didn't know she was pregnant until she was 5 months bc she still had her "period." She only thought she might be pregnant at that point bc she had started gaining weight.  She found out baby's gender the same day her pregnancy was confirmed at the dr!

Not periods...but you can have pregnancy bleeding...and that can happen for days to months during pregnancy.  Period (as we all know) occurs when an egg has not been fertilized and sheds from the lining.
