I'm a nurse so I told my manager early, at 9 weeks. There are certain illnesses that I can't be exposed to for the health of the baby so I needed to communicate that. I had just started on a new unit and was expecting some backlash, but it actually went really well. Everybody has been very supportive and it was nice to get the weight off of my chest from worrying about how to tell them.

I told them because i had just started working my new job. My first day i vomited and fainted. Then i kept getting nausous and fainted two other times at work. I had to let them know why.

Coworkers are not friends; your boss is not your friend; you wait till you are showing or it is medically necessary, and first it's HR then your boss. It's the best way to protect yourself.

I've been wondering the same thing. My coworkers are ridiculous, so I seriously want to wait as long as possible. And of course, I'll be in contact with HR LONG before I tell my coworkers.

Right away so they knew if I was sick or needed off for doctors appointments
